This injury to my right hand is related to Hurricane Beryl. The restoration company in Webster had been drying out my house for the past week. This involved removing the sheetrock on the ceiling, removing the wall panels and setting up fans.
The worker asked me, "Would you like plastic to cover the ceiling?"
I said, "why do I need plastic to cover the ceiling?"
He replied, "well, alot of people don't like looking at the hole in the ceiling and looking at the roof inside the house."
Of course, I said, "well, that doesn't bother me, so no, you don't have to put up plastic."
Well, guess what?
They set up fans after they cleaned up everything. They turned them on and attic insulation (the blown in kind) blew everywhere, all over the house.
The worker said, "Well, so much for cleaning up!" Ha! "Okay, we better put the plastic up."
Before they left for the day, they removed the falling cabinets in the kitchen. The house was so wet and humid that the cabinets started falling off the ceiling.
Well, because the house is so old, the initial install only included nails, not screws. The workers put the whole cabinet unit in the garage. All the nails were sticking out of the cabinet on the top.
And you can guess what happened. One night, I tripped over something in the garage and stuck my hand out to brace myself and my hand landed right on the nails. Ouch! Ha! Hey, at least I didn't lose any digits or appendages! Until next time!.... Take care everyone!
