This year, my goal is to learn to paint flowers with acrylics. I am beginning to learn about painting flowers by studying other artists and styles.
My thoughts were to try painting flowers because of the peace, beauty and joy I feel, taking a break from all the chaos in the current days (Fires, wars, robberies, kidnappings).
Maybe the paintings will reflect a culture, but I'm not sure because I'm adopted. I suppose you could say I'm a Texan. I suppose you could view that my studies of flowers include a mix, with the impression of flowers left to the imagination of the viewer.
Currently I'm learning from other artists whose style I really like. My studies include learning about tones, space, movement, colors and techniques.
It's been so fun painting and learning about flowers. It's a little challenging, because it doesn't always come out like I had in mind, but I just go back and rework the view until I make myself stop.
I mentioned that the series doesn't include a culture, but I received a request to paint flowers for Hispanic viewers, to include brighter colors and include predictive and intricate patterns. Looks like fun! I am looking forward to learning more!
